All Aboard Social Summer Week 3!

Welcome to Account Abstraction Anonymous

gm and welcome back to Social Summer. 🔆 🏝️

We’re a third of the way through Social Summer, and just like Account Abstraction, we’re only just getting started! This week, we’re diving into the world of builders who are making your accounts smarter with our theme: Welcome to AAA - Account Abstraction Anonymous. 🧠

Ready to channel your inner pirate, or float around like you own a yacht? It's your turn to create and share your own sailing and ocean-themed humor with the 'All Aboard’ Creative Bounty. 🚢 🏴‍☠️

Alright, what the hell is Account Abstraction?

Let’s Set Sail: What’re Accounts?

Before we dive into Account Abstraction, we first need to talk about accounts in an EVM context. There are two main types: Externally Owned Accounts (EOA) and Contract Accounts (CA). EOAs are controlled by and aren’t smart contracts, while CAs are, well, smart contracts managed by code.

EOAs are the most commonly used accounts today. They’re your ticket to the on-chain world but come with annoying challenges like the headache of managing private keys. They also lack the cool that CAs offer. For example, to interact with smart contracts, EOA users need to hand over control of their account to the contract, unlike CAs.

Worry not, here's where Account Abstraction comes into play. Account Abstraction is a game-changer that aims to bring the flexibility and programmability of CAs to EOAs, improving the web3 user experience. This will help us unlock the next wave of web3 users. 🌊

All Hands On Deck: Account Abstraction

When people talk about 'Account Abstraction' (AA), they usually mean upgrading traditional EOA accounts into something called ' .’ This essentially combines the features of CAs and regular EOAs, unlocking a ton of benefits for users.

The AA hype really took off in March 2023 when Ethereum developers introduced the standard. This standard set the stage for transforming traditional EVM addresses into smart contract accounts, allowing your crypto accounts and wallets to become programmable. The improvement not only eliminates the hassle of managing complex seed phrases but also allows for independent control over funds and contract operations. Additionally, it enhances user security and introduces a ton of new features, such as hardware verification through devices like mobile phones, the ability to pay gas fees with ERC-20 tokens instead of just Ethereum, and even . 🤩

What Can Smart Accounts Do?

  1. Automate payments and set spending limits,
  2. Beef up security with two-factor authentication,
  3. Sponsor gas costs,
  4. Simplify wallet recovery,
  5. And so much more.

Account Abstraction Anonymous: The Least Exclusive Club in Web3

As Social Summer sails on, we invite you to join what might be web3's least exclusive club ‘Account Abstraction Anonymous’ to discover how AA is improving web3. 🍻

With AA, it's becoming way easier to come on-chain. Soon, maybe even your grandma could join the web3 party.

Nah just kidding. Yes, AA is making web3 more accessible to everyone. But don't worry, we'll make sure to gatekeep a little—sorry, grandma. 💚

At Cyber, we're all about making web3 more social. That's why we're spotlighting the innovators who are lowering the barriers to entry this week. Their work might be abstract, but their impact and the fun they unlock are as real as it gets.

Mint to celebrate the third week of Social Summer and prove you were an early member of web3’s least exclusive club. 😉
